Some Patterns from
New Zealand

by Ann Cooper -
Nelson - South Island

Though I had 'tinkered' with my mother's Prior knitting machine in the late 1950's my first serious involvement began with the purchase of a Toyota 747 in 1978 to keep my children in knitwear.

Now I knit mainly for pleasure, using Brother machines - an 840, 940 and a 260.

I'm a National Tutor, a Past President of the NZ Machine Knitters Society, enjoy sharing my hobby, and am probably my own strongest critic!

(below)
This Child's Jersey
is knitted without neck shaping - the centre panel is knitted shorter!

Though the Pattern given is in one size only, it can be adapted to fit any size, and the variations of the basic idea are numerous -
mix and match fairisles, textures, or single motifs as shown.

(above)
Slipper Sox
- quick to knit, and a good way to use up small amounts of yarn. Warm & comfortable for winter evenings, and no problem to adapt for any size foot. Did you realise the length of your foot is about the same as the circumference (with most people) so all you need to knit is a square to begin with!

A hat on the bias.
A versatile pattern - easy to knit on any knitting machine, and can be adapted with very little effort to hand-knitting.
