Chrono
Trigger
SquareSoft
SNESThe
greatest Time Hopping adventure ever to
grace the SNES! Brought to you by the
same people behind the Final Fantasy
series you should expect nothing less
than brilliance, and trust me, this is
far beyond brilliance. nWhile you'd
expect a gaming romp not dissimilar to
FF3e/6j you will be pleasently surprised
to know that CT has it's own unique
elements which FF borrowed in newer
sequals!

The Story
is as simple as most Square titles (which
means it's as complicated as a rubiks
cube). You play Chrono who has a friend
called lucca bumps into a princess
travels back in time to a great war then
forward to an advanced civilisation etc
etc etc (rather simple stuff you see).
This game
is amazing. Going for a faster more fluid
walking system than FF6's and the
addition of a speed button (B) makes the
moving system of this a lot better. It's
so fast and good. The battle system is
more or less Final Fantasy's with the
differance that instead of warping you to
a new screen all the action takes place
in the same scenario. The timer remains
though. One good battle move is Duel
Techniques. These funky additions allow
two members to unite techniques to make a
super Move is you will.
The
Graphics are great and some of the best
the SNES has ever pushed. with great
scene's like the coutroom and Castle
bridges you can't help but stand in awe.
The overworld however is considerably
differant to that of Final Fantasy's.
Instead of walking over your desired
location you stand by it and press a
button. Better in my opinion although
hardcore FF fans will be annoyed at
times.
This is
simply one of the BEST RPG's on the SNES
and beaten down only by the slightly
better Final Fantasy's. IT inspired a
sequal also, Chrono Cross for the PSX.
