Yankee 30 "Trillium"
Trillum is a Yankee 30 Mk II in owned by John Mead of Long Island, NY.
He writes: "I'm delighted with my "new" Yankee 30 (a 1972 model...I have no idea which,'mark' it is although I suspect it's a Mark II). I traded with Larry van Beek, in Sturgeon Bay, Wi. for Trillium. He took my Morgan 44 in return. He's off in the Bahamas (I think) where we spent a few winters and I'm sailing around the Northeast with what has proved a delightful sailboat in both gentle and heavy weather.
"I don't remember the exact cost of moving the boat from Wisconsin
to Long Island. But it was around a thousand dollars. All went smoothly.
Trillium is my 8th sailboat. She's great to sail single-handed and when
my wife Wendy joins me is forgiving enough to please her too.
"The alcohol stove needs to be replaced. It simply will not produce
enough heat for a proper meal or a decent cup of coffee. I've had several
good reponses to my plea for help with the stove and I'll pass along my
thanks through you. By the way, I'd be very interested in Bill Ramelli's
write-up.
"Please include my contact information in the Owners Directory, which
by the way, I find both good winter reading and rich in information.
Obviously a devoted group. O. Stevens would be proud!"
