Yankee 30 "Independence"

Yep, that's the dark blue hulled "Independence", Yankee 30 hull #1, owned by Mick Blackledge and sailed out of Guntersville, AL. This photo is the cover of the original Yankee 30 sales brochure. That's her original owner, John Linskey, standing in the companionway, sail maker Jim Hokanson wearing a white hat, and Kurt Langford behind the staysail. The photo was taken on the homeward leg of one of the 1971 Whitney Series races around the Channel Islands off of Los Angeles.  Thanks Kurt for that bit of trivia.
