I would like to hear from anyone who has any information or photo's etc on HMS Cockchafer (Gunboat) My father Richard James (Dick) served on board during the second world war. He will be 80 this year and I would like to present him with any memories that come up. Thanks.

I've been developing a site about Royal Navy Gunboats. I think there is one shot of the Cockchafer in the Insect Class section.

There is a wreck off of Cyprus that is thought to be HMS Cricket (sister ship of Cockchafer). There are some problems with the fact it is the Cricket and the only real alternative is the Cockchafer.

my father-in-law, Henry Hornsey (bif) was on the Cockchafer at the time of the invasion of scilly in 1941-2 (?)we don't have any pictures, only memories. If you have any i would be very garteful if you could e-mail them to me at swiss_swiss88@hotmail.com
