peter worby Guest 10/10/2002 09:45:41	RE: White Cross POW Camp, Cornwall IP: Logged Message: was this the one that was at st erth praze??? there was a pow camp there .. the maycretes were all there until about 6 yrs ago when the whole lot was bulldozed for a holiday caravan park.... there was a mint cond m1 helmet in one of the barns and a prop froma ww1 spad...... the people who owned the farm would not let me have it and a short time later the contents of the farm were ALL sold off due to bankruptcy!

The camp is number 115, it was the main camp for the cornwall area,parts of the camp are still standing,but have been converted for use as a holiday park. Earlier in the year there was an artical in the local paper the "Cornish Guardian" on july the 17,2003,page 40-41.
