Message: My father PETER HAVERS MOORE 1st Battalion Black Watch was captured at Dunkirk June 1940. We believe he was interned at Stalag V111B and would very much like to hear from anybody with any information however trivial it may appear.
With thanks

Message: dear lesley, My father also was in stalag 8b/lamsdorf344. from 1940/45 although he wore the black watch uniform he was actually in the highland light infantery/glaasgow rangers. the only information i have been able to find is that the site is now a musuem, but you probably already know that! my father was assigned to work down the mines ,for which he is now suffering. in 1944, because of ill heath he was assigned to "light duties" in a mill where they made furniture and he had to cut down trees and plane them! he considered himself to be one of the lucky ones as there was a lot of suffering and poor conditions so his philosophy was better out of camp! he remembers some rather rough train journies and walk to the camp. and at the end he was repattriated by the americans in a czech village! I will try and ask him if he remembers you father. my fathers name is archie broadfoot, by.the way.

Message: My father Alfred Richard Collyer (Alfie) of the Mortar Squad (no.3 Platoon HQ Co) of the 4th Battalion Seaforths was captured at St Vallery and was sent originally to Stalag VIIIB. He later got himself transferred to M-Stammlager XXA in Poland to be with his brother Vic. When the Germans marched them from the camp towards the end of the war, they decided to escape and made their way to Hamburg living off the land. Unfortunately my father died of TB in 1958 and we are only piecing together the story now. If any one has any information I would be grateful
