Message: My very small amount of reseach shows my grandfather in the above listed camps
Does anyone have info on 8c and where it was
Letters show he was in 8c Dec 16, 24 1944

Message: Stalag 8c was in Sagan (Zagan) poland.Stalag 8b would have been in the 8th military district of wehrmacht based in wroclaw, the camps were under the military district number. stalag luft 3 (the great escape) was also south of sagan and belaria which is a nearby village.more info from the zagan town web, www.zagan
my uncle was liberated from sagan 7th april 1945
he was an argyle & sutherland highlander attached to the 51st highland division and was captured at st valery (france) on 9th june 1940
he spent 5 years as a pow at 4 different camps.
