Sutton Fire Department
General Information

Sutton Fire Department is led into action by David R. Currier, who has served the department since 1999. Our department has about 45 paid professionals on staff.

The Fire Chief and 2 Firefighter/EMTs are currently the only full-time positions within the Sutton Fire Department, working a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4PM. All other personnel are paid on-call. We also currently have 8 Fire Explorers on board to assist firefighters on the fireground and with special department projects.

The department operates out of three stations, with a Deputy Chief responsible for each station. Station #1, located in the center of town, covers much of the town and contains the Chief's office and housing for the paid ambulance service. The village of Manchaug, in the southern end of Sutton, is served by Station #2. In the northern end of town, Station #3 covers the village of Wilkinsonville. Our personnel are very committed and dedicated professionals who truly care about the community they serve.

Sutton Fire Department proudly protects 9,000 people living in an area spanning 33 square miles. Sutton is primarily a rural/residential community, with most business and industry in town located along the Route 146 Corridor. Sutton is located in the historic Blackstone Valley between Worcester, MA and Providence, RI.

Sutton's current stations are primarily used for vehicle storeage. However, the Town & Department are in the beginning stages of a construction & renovation project that, when completed, will provide for a new Station #2 on Manchaug Road and an expanded and renovated Station #3 at it's current location. This project will help to modernize our facilities as well as address current facility overcrowding & other concerns.

If you are a resident of the town of Sutton, MA and are interested in joining the Sutton Fire Department, please contact Chief Currier at the fire station in the center of town or by email at dcurrier@town.sutton.ma.us.
