D-Day Remembered
The museums round Omaha Beach

Colleville-Sur-Mer, near OMAHA –Beach, has its first museum, The Big Red One “1st infantry Division” assault museum, which has seen the light back on April 25th 2004.
The museum that was first located in a to small place at Ste-Honorine-Des-Pertes is owned by a young director and friend of mine Pierre Louis Gosselin and is located at the Hameau Le Bray on the D514 coming from Colleville-Sur-Mer centre and going towards the American cemetery .
The US 1st Infantry Division has returned to “BLOODY OMAHA “.
The BIG RED ONE ASSAULT MUSEUM is a very interesting living museum worth to visit and the director is always happy to help out by answering any question about the whole collection and the landings on this part of Omaha Beach once divided in sector FOX GREEN and FOX RED.

The museum is closed from December till end February.
It’s Open in September, October, November, March and May from 09:00 a.m. till noon and from 02:00 p.m. till 06:00 p.m.
In June, July and August it’s open NON STOP from 09:00 a.m. till 07:00 p.m.
