Author: Maeve Disclaimer: TWW belongs to AS, WB, and NBC. AKA not me. Spoilers: Not really except that this entire scene exists in the future of the little AU world that Kells and I have in our heads. Im trying to win you over to my side of the alternate realities genre. (Maggie and Leo have 2, Toby and CJ have 2, and Sam has a man.) AN: I so
wanna see Leo on a boat now. This is for the Breakwater. ( Shed been quite sure on marrying him, that someday hed give her the mental picture she loved the most. It was a solemn admittance, that even after all the portrait photos and snapshots of their children and extended family, that a lazy Sunday afternoon would be her favorite picture ever. Hes gonna burn. She murmured softly, shifting a bottle of baby sunscreen into his fingers as she passed. Leo just glanced up at her complacently, sleepiness dancing dizzy in his eyes. He nodded and imitated a half shrug, admittedly less than caring. Margaret sighed softly and sat on the bench of the bow, easing her body down with the sway of the boat. The fresh smell of the wood on her breath, and the tangy salt taste scraping her dry mouth. Hes fine. Leo mumbled back, half voice and half breath. She studied the picture her boys made while wallowing in the heat. The sun beat on her already burned pink back, the straps of her bathing suit itchy on her irritated skin. Margaret shifted in the sunlight, itching at the spot under her shoulder blade. She blinked, watching him set the sunscreen to the deck boards, closing his eyes and rocking his youngest son slightly. Samual was sprawled pseudo elegantly on his fathers chest, facing the breeze that dusted off the water. His small frame draped against Leos bare chest, a pair of wet Superman swimming trunks leaving a watermark on his fathers cotton pants and his damp hair leaving pools of water on the mans chest. There was a sippy cup dangling from his fingers, about to fall and clatter noisily into their quiet world. She waited for it, but Leo caught the cup lightly, settling it to the deck with the bottle of skin cream. The hand strayed back up to rub his sons stomach soothingly. Sammys red head was tossed back on Leos shoulder, flickers of gold shot through the scarlet length, glittering in the sunlight. She had watched a solid tan creep the boys skin all afternoon, making his normally pale skin the same ruddy tone his father had acquired in the sunshine. Leo - Hes asleep, his eyes brooked her argument, Hes quiet hes fine. The water lapped rhythmically against the boat side, lulling them all towards sleep. The smell and sounds of the water easing them deeper into weariness. The constant warmth of the sun was even dragging her into unconsciousness. Margaret dropped her eyes around the others, watching them act just as lazy as she was. Her older son had crashed at the deck, tumbled into sleep at his fathers feet, an extra long and extra bright beach towel tagged around his body. Margaret smirked, watching the way Thomas bleached hair fluttered against his face, making his nose twitch. There were bright pink circles on the apples of his cheeks, a line of red across his nose. His shoulders had turned warm to the touch, starting a rosy line down his back. Gabriel was asleep beside him, a mop of highlighted curls dropping from under a bright purple towel. His face and neck covered by the deep colored fabric. His chest had bronzed out, surely a credit to CJs genes. Still, there was a flash of pink across his chest too, telltales of a burn. Both boys decked out in matching neon green swim trunks, soaked and leaving spots under their sleeping bodies. The brunette boys mother was lanked out on a deck bench, her arm bent up over her eyes; her still form was lethargic in the sunlight. CJ had dropped to only bare essentials, claiming she wanted an all over tan. Shed only said it to make Toby grin. Still, she was lounging in a bikini and Margaret matched her. She hated the fact that Claudia Jean had turned a dull brown in the sunlight and had no markings of pink save for the bottom lip she was chewing on. Toby had sheltered a sleepy Abbey Jean into the shadow of the mast, a book in one hand while AJ tugged into his lap. She was silent, rubbing her head against his shoulder and clutching into his lap. Toby smirked, settling a kiss into the girls auburn washed curls, eyes still skimming the book he was intent upon. Margaret smiled, watching as he fingered the girls hair, silently lullabying her to sleep with his hand. She just barely noticed the red creeping along his face. The only sounds on the boat were the rustling of Tobys pages, the soft breathes of the two older boys, and those of the two other boys. Sam and Jesse were ensconced at the very point of the bow, heads pressed together as they spoke in near silence. Their deck shoes both kicked out across benches, hands both fingering each others shirt buttons playfully. She grinned, watching them act like high school lovers, just out of mothers prying eyes. She pulled her eyes over the both of them, smile warming as much as the sun. Jesse was toned an easy bronze, his skin tawny in the sunlight. His hair had seemed to get longer over the day, flickering in the wind, glinting in the sunlight. All the while he seemed to match Sam clearly, in fit and form and breath and voice. She smiled, watching Seaborn act as his namesake, dropping his hand over the side to grab at the sea wind. Sams black locks had seemed to flash and brighten in the light, whispering whenever he turned his head towards MacIntyre. There was an even tan to his skin, and his chest seemed to heave a little in the heavy air. She rolled her tongue in her mouth, wincing at the pasty feeling of no voice. She opened her mouth, licking her lips lightly and standing quickly. Just dont let him burn. She murmured gently, washing her fingers lightly across her husbands forehead. He seemed to smile wider than he had all day, blue eyes matching hers in the bright sun. Leo nodded and kissed her fingertips, pulling her closer by the back of her knee. Hes fine baby. His fingers still tingled on her skin playfully, Just relax like everyone else. She pushed his hair back, watching as the wind played at the paled out locks. With a breath she dropped an easy kiss to his face, stroking at the warmth on his skin. She kissed him lightly again, then settled her cheek against her sons, brushing back the red length. He was feverish warm, but mumbling in comfortable sleep. Her eyes drifted down to her older son, And dont let him sleep all day. Leo just laughed quietly in disagreement, I think were all gonna sleep all day. She blinked into the sky, following the dizzy flight of one of the seagulls. I guess. Relax Margaret. He slipped his fingers up the back of her thigh, pulling her closer to his deck chair, voice ordering her. She shivered as a cool breeze washed between the rays of sunlight, Dont know how. He laughed, watching the way the sun flickered past her red locks, brazening them golden above him, Then learn baby. Ya just gotta learn. Click Leo and Margaret to send feedback:
