White Xmas

[Merry Xmas!]

Tradition expects a white Xmas to make the day complete. This means a picturesque covering of crisp white snow, the enjoyment of ice skating and toboggans, scenic icicles on roofs and fun with snowmen.

Except that in the UK the third-world rail and road systems are paralysed by the first snowflake, plunging all attempts to travel into chaos.

And in Thule, Greenland they have a dark Xmas because the sun doesn't rise between October and March. But they do have giant blizzards and fearsome windchill, so that's OK.
