The Most Disliked Xmas Songs

[Merry Xmas!]

Xmas muzak in stores and malls is now as traditional as Santa. The trouble is a lot of it is cheesy and many shoppers don't like it. More importantly the people who work in stores and malls dislike it even more as they have to hear endless repeats of tinkly Xmas tunes during their 12 hour workshifts.

Customers have voted their least favourite Xmas tunes and here they are in order of unmerit:

  1. Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade
  2. I Wish It Could Be Xmas - Wizzard
  3. Mistletoe & Whine - Cliff Richard
  4. We're Walking In The Air - Aled Jones
  5. Rock'n'Roll Xmas - Garry Glitter
  6. Rocking Around The Xmas Tree - Mel Smith
  7. The Spaceman - Chris De Burgh (what??)
  8. Merry Xmas Everyone - Shakin' Steven
  9. When A Child Is Born - Johnny Mathis
  10. Mary's Boy Child - Boney M

So there you have it. Personally I think that No. 9 is a top tune and should be played as often as possible along with Merry Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon. But I'm a traditionalist.
