| The Nepean Family History Society was founded in December 1980 by a group of local people interested in getting together on a formal and social basis to further their interest in family history. The Nepean Family History Society’s quarterly journal Timespan, contains articles by members and other relevant material to aid the family historian. The Nepean Family History Society has produced numerous publications over the years including cemetery transcriptions, headstone photographic work and church records. Recently, the Society has begun an endeavour to transcribe the local Penrith City Council rates books. The first is the Castlereagh Municipal Council Rates Books. |

| The Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG) have over 7,800 members throughout the world. Established in 1932, they are the oldest society of its kind in Australia and have one of the largest private genealogical and historical reference collections in the southern hemisphere. Records cover not only all of Australia but also many other countries, especially England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and New Zealand. They publish AGCI (pronounced 'AG-SEE') which is the Australasian Genealogical Computer Index. It has been developed as an indexing standard to be used by family history societies throughout Australia and New Zealand to compile indexes to genealogical information. |
